There are some ways to do the job so read on for a few under cabinet LED lighting How-To tips.
When choosing under cabinet LED lighting you have few choices. You can decide on either a small direct spot light or full length recessed fluorescent pipes. Both offer an attractive look to accentuate the kitchen. It just falls back on personal choice.
For the sake of functionality let’s look at installing a set of lights which doesn’t need to be hardwired back to your main circuit panel.
First of all you need to go down to the hardware store and pick out an under cabinet LED lighting kit.
As soon as you’ve decided on the correct light for your kitchen, unit installation is a breeze.
Measure the full length of your cabinets. This will determine how many lights you need. A good guideline is to apply 1 spot light every 18 inches.
Start the first bulb far enough from the end of the shelves to provide equal spacing of all the lights.
Get a few small finish nails to tack the LED lights to the bottom of the cabinets. Make sure the nail is short enough that it won’t protrude entirely through the bottom of the cabinet.
Continue tacking lights up until you reach the end of the string.
Leave an inline splice to the under cabinet lighting wiring as close as possible to an electrical wall socket. The cabinet lighting kit should have this included in it.
Now splice the electrical switch of the lighting into this wire. Cut down any excess line and hook up an electrical plug to the end of the wire.
Next use a staple gun to staple up the wires. Be careful to center the cord in the staple to stop cutting into the wire. If the wire is too long to lay flush in straight line between the lights you can snake it along the bottom of the cabinet. Since the wires and lights are tucked it doesn’t matter how the wiring is run, you can’t see it.
The final step is to finish work on the lights. Working down the light string, pop bulbs into the sockets being sure they’re tight. After all the lights are hooked up simply snap on the decorative covers and that’s it, you’re done!
Hook up the LED lights and turn the switch. Put your head under the counter making sure that all the LED lights come on.
These few under cabinet LED lighting How-To ideas can help facilitate the installation of the latest kitchen lighting system. There are numerous options available, all you need to do is spend a little time looking for just the right one that is compatible with your kitchen.
